Hi all,
Well it looks as if, like so many others, I have been screwed over by a firmware patch (My Book Elite 1TB).
I went through the autopatch procedure and everything seemed to go swingingly… Except that afetrwards there’s simply no drive available. And it doesn’t show up in Disk Manager either (uh-oh).
It’s the same story on four devices (2x PCs, 1x EEEPC & 1x media player). Plug it in. A USB device gets recognised. Install runs. And nothing is available!
HDDScan 3.3 doesn’t see the drive. Neither does HD Sentinel. But UVCView is apparently able to see the bridge:

Rerunning the firmware update tells me it’s all currently at latest version.
Is there any value in loading up Ubuntu? Does anyne know how I can restore the old firware?
There doesn’t seem to be anything in the doco about it, or on the WD website.
TIA for any assistance anyone can provide!
Doug
