My Book Duo fan won't stop

Hello!
Today I tried to copy around 160GB of video files onto my WD My Book Duo 6 TB via USB. It worked fine until a third of the process, but then it suddenly stopped the copying process, was ejected by my computer and started its fan. I then unplugged the USB cable and plugged it back in, but it didn’t appear on my computer. I left the My Book Duo power cable plugged in. It’s been around 8 hours since and the fan is still going and still does not appear on my computer when I plug in the USB cable. I think it overheated and has since then somehow been staying in its fanning/cooling state.
What should I do? Should I unplug the WD My Book Duo from its power source? Currently it’s plugged into a connector strip, but it’s the only thing plugged in. I’m using a MacBook Pro 13-inch 2017, Two Thunderbolt 3 ports, MacOS BigSur.
Thank you for your support!

Hi @popopopo,
