My Book 1230 not showing files after recent reformat

I recently installed a new hard drive with Windows 7 operating system. When I plug my external hard drive (My Book 1230 4TB hard drive) it shows it with only 1.9TB available and none of my files on the system. It does show two folders with very long names with random numbers like 301b796f (longer then that but do not have the exact description of it as I am away from the computer in question. These are the steps I have taken so far to trouble shoot it. I unfortunately do not have the original disc it came with (if it came with one)

-Verified under windows explorer that "show hidden files and folders is checked, also “show protected operating systems”, essentially anything that dealt with “show” it is checked correctly.

-Checked device manager, uninstalled and reinstalled correct drivers for it. Windows reflects that the most up to date drivers are installed.

-Installed software from my 1tb passport for SW Software. Verified that my 1tb my pass port shows files correctly

-Used the diagnostic utility to and verified that there is no performance problems with the hard drive that are being reported

-Went into the cmd prompt, selected the mapped drive (J: in this case), did dir/ach and it showed information regarding two folders that are on the drive. Tried the instructions of File name~ -r -a -s -h but did not get any desired result. Not 100% I did that one correct

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am not 100% certain I put those files on the hard drive listed as “back up”. I believe I just transferred files directly to the my book from my old hard drive.

Hello,

Did you used a backup software in order to create the backup? if you did, can you please share the name of this software?

WD Smartware but I am not 100% certain that I used this to create a back
up on the original hard drive. I think I moved a majority of the files
directly to the hard drive through drag and drop. I know I would have
set the softwear up but believe most of the data was just drag and
drop.
