I bought the G-Speed Q 16TB and the finder says I only have 12TB of space available. It’s brand new! Is it bad out of the box? I checked disk utility and it says I only have a 12TB disk attached along with my macintosh hd. If anyone can help I really need to start working and 12TB is not enough.
My friend had the same problem it seems that G-Tech ships them out in RAID 5. If you want to change it you should download their config utility from the link below. Make sure your selecting the right version for your model. He had the USB 2.0 version and after messing around trying to change it to RAID 0 he noticed that he downloaded the USB 3.0 version.
