music artwork not showing

hi there. i have a sansa fuze+, 8gb model, and just updated the firmware to 2.38.06. thank goodness folder browsing is there! overall everything is ok, except none of my music artwork is displaying. i rip my cds using itunes, to mp3, and embed artwork inside itunes, so each track has an embedded image. mac finder displays the artwork when i select an mp3 file in finder, but the fuze+ just doesn’t seem to like what i’ve done.

any clues?

cheers

I have never been able too get artwork to show, no matter what I do. Perhaps 1 in a thousand will display, but I have not figured out why.

MTP or MSC mode makes no difference. Drag and Drop as opposed to using deskto media player to transfer makes no difference.

A multitude of file sizes used - makes no difference.

The only way I have been able to display album covers, and it consistently shows them without manipulation, is to use Rockbox.

Rockbox also corrects a multitude of other issues, most notably a hyper-sensitive touchpad.

Do a Search on this board, and you will find lots of references to RB, plus the download/install process.

See this post over on the ABI forums. Although the player being referred to is different from your, the advice still applies. It appears iTunes by default writes a slightly different ID3 tag format than what Sansa players like. Re-tagging in MP3Tag solves the issue (provided you change the program’s Write default to ID3v2.3 ISO-8859-1).
