Multiple MY Book Hard External Drives... install Smartware each time?

I have 2 My Book 3TB External Drives to use with my laptop… do I have to install the Smartware from each seperately? (ie: a smartware install for every WD MY book I hook up)?

Also… can I hook these 2 up to another PC occasionally and use them without installing their smartware on that PC?

Hello, you only need to install Smartware once, Smartware will recognize each hard drive separately, but you need to start the backup on each My Book. Smartware is an optional program, you can connect the My Book on any PC and use it like a normal USB memory stick.
