MP3s no longer play from external microSD after upgrading to firmware 1.02.18

Btw, this is now fixed for me, maybe people want to know how it was fixed?

I just updated my firmware from 1.02.17 o 1.02.18 (to get around the problem with hanging MP3s)

The upgrade process itself went fine and my Clip+ (4 GB) now reports to Windows (XP) as firmware v01.02.18F

It did have to refresh all the media after the upgrade, but I guess that’s normal.

However, it now appeared to no longer play files from the external microSD card (32 GB): it just zoomed past the files without playing them.

i fixed this by moving a single directory with a single album from the external to the internal disk. This triggered, after disconnection, a new media refresh and now it plays all the files again.

Why? no idea.

Oh, and my MP3s are still occasionally hanging I just got a hang right now.

Because you changed the directory/file structure.

Then it’s a problem with those particular files. Possibly an ID3 tag issue.
