MP3 Recorders

Why doesn’t Sandisk make mp3 recorders? I am not taking about the wimpy digital recorders that some companies make with a tiny mic, or the very expensive pro recorders, I am talking about ones with decent sized built in mikes that do an okay job of recording  music, lectures, or interviews at a low price. I was looking at the Samson Zoom H2 Handy Recorder. It is $150 and seems like the best of the low priced digital recorders. The H2 is an interesting product and some reviews says its 4 built in mics work nicely, however  its microphone input is a bit noisy. Why doesn’t Sandisk make something like this that is better and less expensive? So many companies make mp3 players, yet so few make decent, affordable mp3 recorders.
