MP3 player not compatible with new Sony boombox

I just purchased a sony boombox that is compatible with mp3 players. I have a Sansa Clip+8 gb mp3 player. It is not compatible.  It writes: Reading No Support. I did upgrade my firmware today. Still no luck. What can I do to make it work. Thanks for any suggestions.

How about connecting your Clip to the boombox via a patch cord between the Clip’s headphone jack to an aux-in port on the boombox?

Make sure it is in MSC mode.  Simple devices like stereos cannot use MTP.

Also you may have to remove the SD card, as simple some devices get confused if one USB device has two drives (athough this is perfectly legal per the spec).
