Missing MP4 files but .SCR and .THM files are there

I have a SanDisk Extreme PRO microSDXC™ UHS-I CARD - 256GB that I use on my DJI Action 4 action camera. Both items are about 2 months old. I recorded about 50 mins of footage yesterday in 2 chunks of 30 mins and 20 mins. When I got home and checked, I only had the recordings for around 10 mins (2 x 5 mins ish videos). DJI splits the videos into 1 min recordings so a new file is created for each minute. I definitely recorded them as I was checking constantly if it was still recording. I checked the file names and there’s a big jump where about 20 files are missing in the middle of both sessions in the DCIM folder. I went and checked in the MISC folder and that has all the SCR and THM files from the missing time period for every minute. The footage is really important to me as I filmed a once in a lifetime adventure. I don’t believe this is the action camera’s issue as I’ve tried other SD cards for long videos since and it works fine. Is there any way to retrieve the MP4 files? Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA

try CHKDSK and see if the missing files are recovered

Your missing video files might still be recoverable. Start by running CHKDSK on your SD card—connect it to a PC, open Command Prompt as Administrator, type chkdsk X: /f (replace X with your SD card’s letter), and press Enter.

If that doesn’t bring the files back, check if they’re hidden by enabling Hidden items in File Explorer. Since you found SCR and THM files for the missing footage, try using Windows Data Recovery Software to scan the SD card and restore the lost MP4 files.

Just make sure not to use the SD card in the meantime to avoid overwriting the lost data.
