hi guys. i have this western digital my book 2tb. im using win xp sp3 32bit. for some reason when i access my external drive my files arent there. i already checked if it is hidden… my anti vir scanner can see the files. command prompt can see it. provided that i use dir/s. i cant access it even in command prompt. it sez the directory is non existing. whats going on???
oh btw i use windlg already drive is fine.
It sounds like some type of corruption. For a start open the Device Manager find the external drive delete it’s driver disconnect and reboot the system. When yoou reconnect the drive it should load a fresh driver. If you still have problems something like TestDisk http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk or Recuva http://www.piriform.com/recuva
