MicroSDHC card compatibility

Sorry if this has been posted before, I didn’t find that topic through search.

I have a Samsung 16 GB microSDHC card class 6. My Clip+ 8 GB recognizes it’s there, but only shows the term External storage > “[empty]” no matter what I put on it. As my mobile phone also can not use it, I wonder whether this is a problem of the card.

As far as I know, the Clip+ supports microSDHC?

I would say that’s a good possibility.

You can test the card with h2test2w.

If it is not a bad card, right-click on it (from Windows) and Format it to FAT32. It’s possible that it got formatted to something else and that made it unreadable.

And some tip: don’t use class 6 8 or 10 because it may damage your player (had that accident with previous clip+, class 10)

Damage your player?  How?  

Some people have had trouble with Class 10 cards but it’s not consistent, and using a different (lower class) card works.
