Are you getting the message, “free 90MB”?  It’s possible that you have a few corrupted files.

Start with the Fuze OFF, and slide the power switch all the way down to the HOLD position (orange showing).  While plugging in to the PC, press and hold the center button.  The Fuze will connect in MSC mode.

Right click on My Computer and select manage.  Then click on Disk Management in the list on the left.  On the right, you’ll see your Fuze listed as a FAT / FAT32 partition, in the upper right pane.

Right click on the upper listing for it.  On my computer here, it’s showing as E: SANSA FUZE for example.  Select Properties.  Then select the Tools tab, then Error Checking.

After this process is done, click on the Safely Remoce Hardware icon in the task bar (bottom of the PC screen), and select the Fuze.  Unplug.  Slide the power switch back to the center position.

Turn on the Fuze and let it refresh the database.  See if the message is now cleared.

When you plug in again, the Fuze will connect in your normally selected mode.

What you did was format the player’s memory, which does erase all content.

If you had Rhapsody tunes on there that you had paid for, you’ll probably have to connect to Rhapsody and re-authorize your device in order to download them again at no charge.

I’m not a Rhapsody user myself, but I think that’s pretty much the way it works. Check the FAQs at the Rhapsody site to clarify or confirm this.

Error-checking should not format the memory.
