Maximum Size of microSD, 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 16Gb ? Please report the higher you have used ?

HI,

What this biggest size of microSD any one has used on a Sansa Express ?

2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 16Gb ?

Regards,

Brendan

I use 4gb Sandisk micro SD. Had a lot of problems with stability, bricking of SE using Windows Media Player when syncing. I now use Windows Explorer to drag and drop to the SD card, and then create playlists with Windows Explorer. Sort the songs using one of the fields  like artist, genre, or something you create yourself. Select the songs that you want to create a playlist for, right click on the selection and choose create playlist. And there you have it !!! My SE is about 2,5 years old, 1gb with latest firmware for the Americas and I had a lot of problems, but it has been stable for a while and works like a charm. About 450 songs on it organised in about 10 playlists. I use about half the capacity of internal memory and SD card. Switches on fast enough.

Good question.  I asked Sansa the same question a few days ago: http://forums.sandisk.com/sansa/board/message?board.id=express&thread.id=3354.

Back in 2007 Sansa said they we’re working on it, but I guess they gave up: http://forums.sandisk.com/sansa/board/message?board.id=express&thread.id=1130.

On the assumption Sansa folks never look at these forums, I e-mailed Support a couple of days ago with the same question. Still no response.

Given their obvious devotion for existing customers, what do you think the odds are that I’ll ever buy another Sansa device?

I’ve used a 4GB and 8GB Transcend microSDHC in my 1GB Express and a 2GB Express just fine. Use it just like a flash drive and copy over your files, don’t use stupid “syncing” features. Make sure your ID3 tags are clean, make sure your folders only have .mp3 files and no database files, or album art or extra junk.

I just installed 8GB SanDisk microSDHC in my Express and it works great, total capacity: 9GB.
