I want to buy a 2tb or 3tb my book wireless external hard drive, but I am not sure of two things. I want to use it as a main drive and not a backup. I want to be able to save files from two computers to the my book, is that possible? Also, another question, once I boot up the computer, will it automatically connect to the external drive or do I have to manually connect it myself every time? Also, can I leave it on 24/7 or do I need to turn it off once I am done using it?
WD has no wireless drives. You can use the drive to copy files from multiple computers, without installing any software. It will not do any harm to leave the drive plugged to the PC 24/7, you can also unplug it from the computer when you finish working with it, this will be up to you.
