macOS can't repair the disk "WD EHD 10 2016"

Can you please advise me on how to proceed. This drive contains very important content. Backblaze is unable to back it up. The full error message reads:

macOS can’t repair the disk “WD EHD 10 2016”
You can still open or copy files on the disk, but you can’t save changes to files on the disk. Back up the disk and reformat it as soon as you can.

I ejected the drive for now.

Just drag all the folders from the disk to your desktop. This will save your data further erase the hard drive.

Thank you for your response. I have saved the data from the hard drive. What do I do with the drive now? After I erase it, do I reformat it or something of that nature? Can it be used or is it trash? Thank you!

Formatting the drive will re-map new sectors and logical errors will get fixed. You can use the drive for other purposes. Otherwise, in physically damaged drive formatting won’t help. Give it a try.
