Since I installed Mac OS High Sierra (10.13), my Mac creates many folders when saving a file to “G-SPEED Studio R” (shared over local network; the defect does not occur if I store the file from the computer that is connected to the “G-SPEED Studio R” directly).

If the file is called “test.txt”, every time I save it, it adds a folder like:
