m240, Win 2000, and disk full message

I purchased two refurbished m240s. They’re both behaving the same way. I can copy music on to the players but after I copy about 455 mb, I get a message that says “The disk in the destination drive is full. Insert a new disk to continue.”

I’ve reformatted the players through My Computer and I’ve set the players to connect through MSC since I’m using Windows 2000. (I didn’t realize XP was a requirement.) I can not update the firmware because the firmware program is not supported on Windows 2000 and will not install. I’ve also restored them to the original factory settings through the player’s menus but nothing seems to help.

One thing I have noticed that seems weird, even though I’ve set the players to use MSC, when I connect them to the computer, the display says “USB Connected MTP”.

Does any one have any ideas on how I can actually use more that 455 mbs?

Alright, I figured it out. When formatting the players, the default File System selection was FAT and I just left it there. Once I looked at the other options and saw FAT32, I selected that instead and now I’m able to use the players to their full capacity. Mods, feel free to delete this thread.
