Lost all default files

I recently purchased a My Passport Essential 2 tb hard drive. A couple of days ago I formatted and now all the factory default software is missing. I looked all over the internet for the files and emailed WD they gave me this link http://wdc.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5419 I went there and downloaded the SES 32 bit version and installed it. It only gave me several files but none of them were the files that came with the external hard drive files such as the lock files and there were no other installation folders. Is there something I’m doing wrong or some other place I need to go to get the files. Thank you for your time and patient.

Thank you for responding. I did that but it came back saying firmware is already up to date.

You’re welcome ! :smileyvery-happy:

After hours of working on it last night I and being tiered I failed to mention that it didn’t install any files on the external hard drive.

Hi

If you did Step 1 ( firmware update ) you don’t need to save the files on the drive, but is good to have those files on the drive as a backup, just in case.-

I think I explained this wrong the files that I am looking for are what originally came with external drive. The drive is completely empty. These are the files I am looking for.

These are files from my 320 gb drive.

I’m sorry for any inconvenience I have caused you and thank you for you patients.
