Initially I purchased 4 x WD MyBook 2 TB units for backups at home, once the warranty ran out all 4 died within a short space of time… No Comment there.
Anyway I have a QNAP 469 Pro with 4 x WD Red Pro drives in it. I also have 4 spares, I have a trust issue… I want to ensure I keep the Drive firmware up-to date, but the WD software cant find any drives. I am therefore after a SATA Controller and PSU. so I can get all my drives up to date. I also have 3 x 12 disk IBM SAS trays full of WD 1tb disks that need updating. Can anyone suggest a place to just purchase a SATA Controller. I Don’t like buying New MYBOOKS just to break them apart but that’s my second option. All 3.5 disks
