Loading a system backup on to a MacBook

Ok I probably know the answer to this but if there is the slimmest chance I had to ask.

I had a message on my Windows laptop the other nigth saying that the hard disk was corrupt and to back up immediately. I did so pretty quickly. I then came to use the laptop the next day and it won’t even start with various error messages coming up.

I now have a Macbook Air and my question is can I recover any of the files from the system back up on to my new Mac?

Unlikely I know but hopefully someone can suprise me.

Thanks

Yes.

Connect the drive to your Mac and manually transfer any files backed up on to the drive.

The drive is read only at the moment with your Mac therefore you can transfer the files with no problem.

Whenever you finish transferring the files to your Mac you can reformat the drive to be able to use for backup on your Mac.
