Issues with Installation (1st issue) & now detecting new HD (2nd)

Basically I just plugged in my new WD Ultra for the first time, started to do installation process. Had to download ‘Rar Extractor Star’ to unzip the Apps Setup File as it wouldn’t open. First issue was that for some reason, when I would drop/drag the file into RAR, it would continue to again ask me to select file but ‘Apps Setup’ wasn’t able to be selected. So that’s the first thing.

2nd thing, I don’t really know what I did but I was trying to see if I would be able to use this new HD for my Time Machine back up, but now I can’t see the H.D showing up in attached external devices. I can see it listed inside Disk Utility, so is anyone able to tell me the process to get it installed properly from here?

Hi timagius91,

Please know that WD My Passport is a plug and play device, you just have to plug it in to the computer and it would be visible in the finder and you can transfer the data.
