Is this problem is related to My Passport devices?

I posted the following to the WD TV Live forum, but saw a lot of password related problems in this forum.

As an addentum: I did not use any software coming on the drives, in fact I deleted WD directories before copying videos into it. Was this a mistake?

I responded to your post. Still saying that is not common that the WD TV corrupt a drive.

I didn’t know that these My Passport drives have other (SW) partitions. Can this interfere with WD TV Live media players?

If so, what should I do?

  1. Get rid of everthing by using the formatting utility?
  2. Is it sufficient to “hide” VCD partition?

This is the first time I’m using these drives, so any ideas are very much velcome.
