Is there a simple way to completely clear the Clip’s memory just like it came from the factory?
I think a “Format”, possibly followed by a “Reset All”, would do the trick. Both options are in the Settings menu. You won’t get back the preinstalled songs though.

I think this will also remove the 5 free songs that came with your Clip, if that matters to you.
Yes, the Format command will erase all data areas of the Clip.
The “Reset All” function doesn’t erase anything; it simply resets all settings to the factory defaults, just as they were when you first received your new Clip.
