Is it ok to keep the flash cards in camcorder when not in use?

Hi,

I have a Canon XF305 camcorder and record on SanDisk Extreme Flash Cards. Is it ok to keep the flash cards in the camcorder when it is not in use or should I always take them out and store them in their plastic cases?
