Installation drive appearing but passport drive not available

Hello all,

I have a 500 Gb passport WD external hard disk. It has been working really well until recently i plugged it into my pc and usually await for the drives to show up and mount. It mounts usually 2 drives: the installation of the WD software drive and the Passport drive. The first one is appearing and gets me working through it normally but the second is not showing at all.

I am using Ubuntu 10.04 and i really do not know what the problem really is.

Can you connect this drive in a Windows computer? If so, are you able to see the drive in Drive Manager?

Me also facing same problem .

 in device manager it’s showing successfully at the same time my drive name is also appering but the problem is if i try to open it’s taking lot of time but finally  it’s not open

i have lot;s of data plz help me out
