Images not displaying in preview

Hi, 

I’m not at all technical and it may be an easy fix, but I’ve just been transferring some photos from my Macbook Pro to My Passport and all of a sudden the images aren’t showing - just coming up saying jpeg.

There are a lot of duplicate photos on their that I need to delete and it’s really hard to do when I have to actually open the photo rather than be able to see it in preview as I scroll through. 

All tips and solutions appreciated.

I don’t know much about Macs. Windows has various ways of displaying files in a folder. Look and see what you can find for folder settings for you Mac version.
