I want to delete the WDSmartware.swstor file on Version 2.2.1 so I can start out all over but when I tried it said that it would cause problems with my system. If it is only a copy of my system files, why would it cause problems with my system?? I want to erase the WD drive and start all over but don’t want to take a chance of ruining my system! Please tell me if it would cause problems with my computer??? HELP!!!

Deleting the WDSmartware.swstor folder will not cause any issues with your Operating System, WD Smartware software or your WD hard drive. Please note that WDSmartware does not backup system files. You should be able to delete this folder in order to create a new backup. You can also post here a picture of the error message you mentioned.

Thank you for your fast response! I erased the drive and started over and have not had any problems with my system.
