I’ll keep this brief. I have a “My Passport 500GB” which was working fine since I bought it, yesterday I bought My Passport Ultra 1TB and noticed the software WD Smartware. I installed it and ask to back up my passport to my ultra, the process kept going over night and it was not responding in the morning so I had to stop it because I needed the harddrive for work.
When I got to work the drive is not accessible, meaning it shows up in my computer but I can’t access it. If I right clicked it to see the properties it will stop responding forcing me to end tasking it.
I returned home to try it on the laptop but the same thing, I changed the USB cable, its still the same, I tried to enter the Disk Management under administrative tools on Windows 8 and 7 but it hangs on connecting to virtual drive.
I tried to do a check disk but I keep getting errors and I tried searching for fix for those errors but keep getting new ones.
One last thing I have to mention, whenever I plug the harddrive the laptop becomes extremely sluggish and slow, once I unplug it everything returns to normal.
