I need the firmware

I got a Sansa Connect without Wi-Fi, searching on the web I found a post here to restore the Wi-Fi and now I got Wi-Fi, later I fill the device leavin 6% free adn hour later a lot songs got deleted.

I search on the web and I found a review sayin’ that this device got a special function that I can disable on Settings/Msic&mixes but the problem is that the firmware that I got doesn’t show this option. I ask for someone to send me or upload the firmware with:

  • ZAP: 1.1.1.50371
  • OS: 1.1.1.50239

I followed these instructions to upgrade to that version of firmware:

1.  Download the Recovery tool and install it

2.  Download the images you need from MegaUpload

3.  Run recovery from the command line (cmd)

I have the firmware shown in that post, the firmware that I need is the first that allowed the deviceplay videos

That firmware can play videos.  Your videos must not be loaded correctly or in the right format.

You mentioned the “Music & Mixes” option in your original post; that is no longer available in the firmware.  The WiFi functions that remain are only Internet Radio and Flickr, not the ones that originally allowed you to download songs and store them on the Connect.

Ditto what Promised Planet said… mine plays videos fine with that firmware…

Thanks for your suggestions, I just need a firmware that shows Music&Mixes to allow me to configure the auto-erase option. Also play videos.

Did you read anything that we just posted?

Music & Mixes is no longer available.

The firmware which supports WiFi (and the one which is now installed by the Recovery Tool, but doesn’t support WiFi) can play videos.

The only other suggestion I have is to get on eBay and purchase one with the firmware you need.  I just restored one that I got on eBay that had that firmware and updated it with the newer, better version.

PromisedPlanet I didn’t want to upset you. Now I want to know why some songs got deleted.

I wasn’t upset, just wondering why you were asking the same questions again, when we already responded to them.

The Connect doesn’t delete songs that you’ve loaded on it, by itself.  Either you must have done this, or possibly your Connect has some kind of memory problem.

Has it happened more than once?  So you just load songs on the Connect, see that they’re on there, put the Connect down, and then sometime later pick your Connect back up and find that the songs have disappeared?

I have uploaded music to the Connect around three times, later on the same day around 9% percent of the songs got deleted and a question, the firmware you have is the one that you post in this: http://forums.sandisk.com/sansa/board/message?board.id=connect&thread.id=2515

I’m sorry, I can’t explain what you’re seeing.  I suggest you run the “official” Recovery Tool, located here:

After you have that firmware installed, verify that songs are loading correctly and not disappearing on their own.  Once you’ve verified that, follow the instructions in the link you posted (thread 2515) to re-enable the WiFi functions, if you want them.
