I just want to map a drive and copy files back and forth

I just received my replacement My Passport Wireless Pro. My first drive failed and this is the replacement from Western Digital.

I just want to map a drive letter to my Windows 10 laptop and copy files back and forth.

When I try to do this in Windows 10, I see:
The mapped network drive could not be created because the following error has occurred:
The device is not ready.

Relevant info:
– the WiFi blue LED light is solid.
– the Disk blue LED light is blinking slowly blue. Then it stops. Then it blinks again.

The complete user manual explains rhis task of copying files. Did you refer to it? If you set up the MPW properly you have connected your MPW to the home network when you connected it to the internet.

It should show up in Win File Explorer if you have the MPW on. Look in Hetwork section of FIle Explorer for it. If you don’t see it right away, refresh the File Explorer window by clicking the tab for refreshing the PC screen.

You don’t need WD support to do this.
