I have BIG problem

Hi guys,

I would appreciate for any help.

Every time when I plug in my WD Passport, system give me a message " TOO MANY PASSWORD RECOVERY ATTEMPTS ", even I didn’t  set up any password protection.

After that I can’t access to my hard drive at all.

Please help

Thank you,

Kind regards.

Goran

You are probably out of luck. You can unplug USB and Power then plug back in and you will get 5 more tries. Try access from a different account like the guest account and try on another PC if you can. They occasionally work. Don’t waste your time taking the drive out of case and hoooking up as an internal drive. The data is hardware encrypted even if you can access it will be useless.

Joe_S is right.  If you didn’t have a password on it before, then something must have triggered the unlocker to think you need a password.  When this happens, there is nothing you can do, but reformat it and start over.  This happened to me once when I just pulled the cable out after copying files to the drive.  I had corrupted something in the drive and it wouldn’t let me in.  What’s worse I didn’t have the drive backed up, so I lost a lot of media files.  Sorry for your loss.
