I am new to Passport

I purchased My Passport Essential SE 1 TB/To.  I want to back up the files from my old computer and dowload them to my new computer.   Since I am getting rid of my old computer, what is the best way to back up the files? 

Should I install the full version of the WD Smartware on my old computer or install only the WD SmartWare software on my old computer?

How many times am I allowed to install a full version on a computer?  Is there a limit?

There is not a limit of how many times you can install WD Smartware, it does not matter in how many computers you install it.
