How to update the firmware on Linux? (Ubuntu 8.10)

Stand on one leg (on your tiptoes) and raise the other leg as high as you can in the air. Make sure the toes on your raised leg are pointed straight at the pole star. Once you’ve done this, tilt your Clip at a 47 degree angle and press every button at once with your thumb and index finger while you plug and unplug the USB cord 16 consecutive times. If this doesn’t work, keep trying. You might get lucky. Or, you could go and ask for help on the Linux forum. I’m sure they’ll be really helpful.
