What process do I follow to return my clip? I have tried everything listed and still cannot bring mine back to life.
Easiest: just telephone SanDisk Customer Service and explain matters.
Depends on when & where you got it . . . Different places have different return policies. If you bought it at a retail “brick & mortar” store like Target, Walmart, Circuit City, Radio Shack, etc. simply take it back & ask for an exchange.
If you got it from Amazon.com follow their return policy instructions.
If you got it from somebody on E-Bay, depending on whether it’s a legitimate store, or just somebody trafficking in electronic devices you may or may not be able to return it.
If you got it from Woot.com, drive to your nearest lake or large body of water, grasp it firmly with your dominant index finger on the top edge, turn your hand sideways so the clip is facing skyward and it is parallel with the ground, give it a final kiss good-by and fling it as hard as you can, snapping your wrist on the release, & see how many times you can get it to skip on the surface of the water before it sinks! :smileyvery-happy:
Woot.com is famous (or infamous) for selling “refurbed” units that have a 50 - 75% failure rate and a return policy that has many consumer un-friendly clauses & fine print. But as you have a CLIP and they can’t easily be taken apart to “re-furb” them, you probably didn’t get yours here.
If you just can’t (for some reason) take it or send it back to whoever you bought it from and get satisfaction that way, you can call SanDisk directly and request an RMA # ( R eturn M erchandise A uthorization), but of course you will have to prove ownership & warranty eligiblility with a sales receipt or proof of purchase. Once you provide that, they’ll usually send you via e-mail an RMA# and a printable pre-paid return shipping label. Once they receive your “dead soldier”, they’ll send you a replacement. Make sure all of your music is saved on your computer so you can re-load once you get your new unit.
Good Luck!

I had assumed you were beyond an original store purchase return period. If you purchased locally and the store is convenient to you, that often is the easiest/quickest way to exchange.
What if your unit is from an institution, died while in transit home, with no way to transfer songs to a computer. Upon returning RMA what happens to those songs? If dissed do I get a Coupon or something to satisfy my loses we’re talking about 500 plus songs. Some are irreplaceable.
There’s a deinstitutionalize service that will deinstitutionalize a player; it also has an option to replace a broken institutionalized player that is still in warranty or outside of it, moving the music to the new player–cost for a broken player out of warranty is $80 plus $10 shipping/handling.
Here’s the SanDisk KnowledgeBase info. and links for deinstitutionalization of the Clip.
