How to retrieve system image

Windows 10 - My Passport
I set up a normal back up routine for all my files and when I select “Restore” these backups are shown along with date created - no problem.

However, using the Windows 7 backup and restore feature in Windows 10, I created a System Image.
This appears as a WindowsImageBackup folder in File Explorer along with WD Backup.swstor but doesn’t appear in the “Restore” options of My Passport.

I went back to Windows 7 feature and clicked “Select another backup to restore files from”. With My Passport connected I click “Refresh” but the drive is not seen.

Having created a system image in My Passport how the hell do I retrieve/restore it if I need to. Help please.

I think that I will only be able to access the image using a recovery/rescue disk or flash drive.
