My device has used up 1935 GB and I would like to make some free space available. Since back-ups are incremental, I don’t know which files to remove safely.
I need to get my Mac repaired and beforehand I would like to make a full back-up in one go (538 GB in total, which must be including the content of Time Machine) in order to facilitate putting it back afterwards, which will hopefully not be necessary!
Equally, to load a back-up back on the Mac would also be a problem, since I don’t know how to do it or where to find the answer.
Hi, I am sorry, that was not the answer to your question. I don’t know (where to find) the settings of the back-ups to the WD Elements drive, but I think the back-ups are set to be made directly from the Mac, not from Time Machine. So, the back-ups in Time Machine and on the WD Elements must be the same.
