Hmm, never heard of a conflict with Windows Media Center before… try uninstalling the SMC and see if the WMC works again. If it does, then there’s obviously a conflict somewhere. If not, could have been a coincidence and you may want to contact Microsoft… then again you may want to call microsoft anyway and see if they have a fix/patch or something for the issue.
P.S: you might want to get your Caps Lock button checked out too
HI
Yes, I uninstalled SMC and when to my drice C to make sure everthing from SMC was uninstalled and restart my comp. and then Media Center start working with not problem. I install again the SMC and the problerm start again.
I will try to get in contatct with microsoft, but I think what they will tell me is that is not their problem, cause the Media Center is working OK with out SMC. I guess Sansa should make a better program compatible for windows vista.
Thanks
Try putting your Sansa into “MSC mode” and connecting it to your computer BEFORE you open up SMC.
Works fine (at least 70% of the time anyways)- on my Vista laptop…
HI:
The problem is not connecting , cause I can do everything, the problem is without connecting anything. like every day when I turn on my comp. then show the message: Window Media Center Reciever Service stopped working and was closed
Any Ideas, Thanks
Download and re-install media center, or check the settings.
These are questions for Microsoft, not an mp3 forum. I wouldnt mention to them that it stopped working after you installed Sansa Media Converter, either-
Because if if SMC started your problems this is still a Windows/ Media player problem.
I had the same problem with SMC killing media center, specifically knocking out the TV card. Uninstall of the sansa media converter worked restoring media center.
Sounds like a problem with your TV Tuner Card Software. Since both users have a TV Tuner Card, this may be a good place to start. Uninstall the TV Tuner Software and see if you can use WMP with SMC installed.
No its definitely a conflict between a media center codec and one installed by Media Converter. There is another thread with others having the same problem. I just use a different machine for Media Converter, unfortunately.
Same problem here with Sansa Media Converter and Windows Media Center(TV)… I thought my TV card
went bad, so I contacted Dell, they hooked up to my Vista checked all, redownloaded drivers etc. And
still no go, So Dell sent me a new tuner card, and had me connect with them during the install and update
of the new card and still no go. Uninstall SMC and WMC works great???
Was hoping to find a fix for this… I’m running alll the Latest updates/drivers for Vista/Sansa…
Thanks
Ron
