Help converting movies

ok all, I am overly frustarted with converting VOB files to avi and getting it to play corretly.

I used the following process which I found on this forum.

1.) Rip .vob files from DVD with DVDFab HD Decrypter (free).

2.) Merge .vob files with (what else?) VOBMerge (also free).

3.) Convert merged .vob files to .avi with WinFF (free again).

4.) Final conversion & transfer to player or memory card with SMC (yep, free too).

5.) Enjoy the show!

everything works except that when I play the converted .avi file the audio is ahead of the video.  I have tried adjusting the fps up and down, with no luck to get the audio and video to sync up.  I have spent hours upon hours and tool upon tool to try and gett this to work with no luck.  Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried the program and suggestions in this post?

Solved my ‘sync’ issues.

Tapeworm,

Do you happen to have the presets for the Sansa Fuse, with the latest version of WinFF?

Unless the idea that Tapeworm suggests works (I haven’t tried it), as stated in the FAQ post http://forums.sandisk.com/sansa/board/message?board.id=sansafuse&thread.id=14382 audio and video will be out of sync.  It’s not unique to Fuze’s or Sandisk.  It also happens on other little players (like iPods).  Not all will do this, I have only a few like this.  A lot don’t, even the long HP movies, none which are out of sync.

You can use the specs in the 1st post of the thread I linked to in my previous response. Just copy and paste them and save it as a new preset in WinFF.

Although it says they are for the e200v2 series, videos I have converted with it play witout problem in both my e280v2 and my Fuze. Which would make sense as the Fuze & v2 share the same processor and some of the same hardware.
