Help! Cannot access my WD device on laptop

Hi folks,
I recently had issues with my desktop which would not start. The WD (2TB) external drive is connected to my PC. When I tried to access it on my laptop, it did not allow me to access. I can only access on the PC

I will have to change my PC and will also be moving to Windows 10 from Windows 7. What steps do I need to take to be able to access on my laptop and my new PC.

Appreciate your help, I have a lot of files on the drive that I don’t want to lose

Hello,

Do you have a portable drive or a desktop version (My Passport or a My Book)? If it’s a desktop version, make sure that you connect the power cable directly to the wall outlet.

When you connect the drive to the laptop, have you check on disk management?
