Hellooooo Bookmarking

The files placed in the Audioook and Podcast folders will be accessed on the GUI and will be separated from the rest of the Music content gui.

IE Artist and Albums, etc will apply to the music content.

Theres no “Chapter mode”  available,  but for Overdrive you can select a specific “Part” to play.

When you click on Podcasts you will see a list of various podcasts, and when you click on the specific podcast you will see a list of episodes,  with the newest one first.

Hope this helps.

When’s the new fw expected to be released??

3-4 weeks till the release.

Hello,
When is the firmware version with bookmark-feature now available?
Greeting

did you read the post right above yours? 3-4 weeks buddy.

Less than 3 weeks now.

And now, less than 3 weeks minues 3 hours.

Is this bookmarking option avaliable for the 2gb player?

Yes, the update will apply to the entire Clip family.

Bob

Including little Betty Sue and Beaver …

So, how do you bookmark with the new firmware…

Supposedly whatever files you place in the new “podcasts” or “audiobooks” folders will automatically be bookmarked when played.  Who knows when the new firmware will be out now…

What audiobooks and podcasts folders…

Does the device require a format for these to appear?

The folders aren’t in firmware version 20, that’s out now.  They’re supposed to be in the next firmware version that’s not out yet.  The new fw was supposed to have been released over two weeks ago, but I guess they’ve found some bugs in it and have been working on it.

Thanks for the clarification!

I hope they finish it up soon.  I’m anxious to try it out!

It’s nice ain’t it!!  Does what I need it to do…and then some.  The bookmark feature is HUGE, and makes it the player of choice/suggestion for me!

Does the new firmware update have trouble with large audiobook files (20 hours or longer)?  When progressively fast fowarding, it is as if the player gets “stuck” and has to catch up. I have had to turn it off and back on again to get it to work again.

Also, will the new firmware update keep the “bookmark” place after a refresh of teh database?

New Firmware v1.0.29 works well with Long Files and will fast forward progressively.  The bookmark is preserved after database refresh.
