Having trouble with MyBook and Sonos

I recently purchased a MyBook external hd to use to backup and access my music. I have a sonos system and have added the MyBook files to the music library but when I play a track from MyBook the music is cut short about halfway through the track. Everything seems in order but it behaves like it is re-setting the connection.
Can anyone help or lead me in the right direction?

I have no tried this, but i would advise to see if you can run a diagnostic on the external drive to see if there is something wrong with it, you can also try to use a different USB port, perhaps this is what is making the music stop half way.
