I seem to be the only one with this problem. I was doing an update for the software for WD MyPassport., in the middle of the update, the process froze. Now when I connect the drive the light is steady without flashing and it will not mount or show up in disk utility. It’s connected but there is no way of making it show up on the screen. Need help please!!!
I would contact WD’s Technical Support about this. You can do so either by phone or email. They may have some way of helping you do it on the phone or by email.

You are not alone. I too had the exact same problem happen this morning. Halfway through the update everything froze. After 2 hours I shutn it all down. Now My computer can’t see the drive and only the small light at the bottom is lit… Aghhhhh!
I know this sounds really dumb but try the firmware update in Windows http://community.wdc.com/t5/External-Drives-for-Mac/My-Passport-for-Mac-frimware-update-problem/td-p/17742/page/6 scroll done near bottom.
