Fuze. Won't do anything past the start up page

sometimes the blue ring lights up sometimes it doesnt, all i ever see on the screen is the SanDisk sansa logo, the computer doesnt recognise it, ive tried all the faq tips, what can i possibly be missing!?

any help would be grand, resetting it doesnt seem to help either ='[
