The problem was solved after I called sansa tech and was advised to get the new version of Sansa Media Converter (86.2 mb). After it was installed the player worked as it should. I would like to acknowledge the tech person I spoke with who was friendly, knowledgeable and patient. Don’t forget to delete the old version of Media converter if this happens to you.
