Fuze problems - video and SMC issues

The first issue is that video’s aren’t actually showing up on my Fuze. I drag n drop like i do with my music, which shows up fine, but as for video’s none of them ever show up. So i searched around, and think that i need to use SMC to get the video’s to show up on the Fuze. This brings about the Second issue.

Everytime i use SMC, which i got from thisthread it crashes. And i mean my entire computer restarts. It’s happened from when i insert the video using add video, to when i click convert. can any1 help me?

thanx.

search this board there are hundereds of potential work arounds thatn eliminate SMC all together.Try one of them. And take SMC off your computer, it sounds like its conflicting with something important.

I can’t answer why SMC works for some and not others.   If you can’t resolve your problem,  you might be interested in this alternative.  http://forums.sandisk.com/sansa/board/message?board.id=sansafuse&message.id=11975#M11975

Also this is from the Sansa Support FAQ

  1. I installed Sansa Media Converter but it won’t launch.

The installation file may be corrupted during download, Re-download Sansa Media Converter.

If the SMC is installed but fails to launch, remove and re-install the program

SMC does work, i use it on a Windows XP sp3 desktop, without issues.   But I might just be lucky not to experience problems with it .

Hope this helps,
