Fuze Hold Switch

Just got a Fuze and love it except for a few problems regarding the hold switch. With rockbox installed when i turn on the hold switch the screen gets darker (like it should) however if i look closely i can still see the WPS flickering rapidly, then when i take the switch off again it flickers 4 or 5 times before returning to normal. I feel like that can’t be good for the system and that it’s probably wasting battery. Are there any solutions to this?

Without rockbox the screen doesn’t flicker when I turn on the hold switch however the way hold works on the fuze’s firmware is dumb because if the wheel turns then the backlight comes on again so it isn’t really locked. Is there a way to make it so the big lock symbol doesn’t pop up whenever a button is pressed while on hold?

If the Fuze didn’t respond while on Hold some people would probably send it back thinking it had died. Not everyone is as smart as you .

If you don’t get a Rockbox answer here, there’s also a forum at www.rockbox.org.

yea well i guess i just like how the ipod behaves while on hold better, i may or may not post on the rockbox forums hopefully i get an answer here…

This does not happen when I put my rockboxed fuze on hold.  The screen immediately turns dark without any kind of flickering that I can see and it stays dark.  And when I release it from hold, the screen turns back on right away.  Again, no flickering of any kind.

Perhaps you can try uninstalling and then reinstalling rockbox in case the first installation went slightly awry somehow.
