Future of memory and digital storage

I like to look at industry trends. Yesterday I bought a Sansa Fuze 2GB with “Body Ink” earphones. For the price it blows away the iPod market in terms of capability.

As I lay down in bed, my mind started chewing on the future of storage media, video players, and wireless communications. It was after 2:AM when I looked at the clock, and I had to get up and get some thoughts out. The blog article linked to below is the result. It may be targeted more toward visionaries, as opposed to those interested in today’s products.

Even though SanDisk probably won’t comment on the direction of future products or services, I tie together trends in Moore’s Law, memory density, wireless technology and the morphing of the functionality of RFID tags into mobile storage devices. If this interests you, take a look at a more detailed vision of the future of storage at:

Let me know what you think!

P.S. I apologize to the SanDisk employees I offended by posting in the wrong area yesterday. I hope this area is more appropriate. -ALR

FYI:

The link above still works - however the blog article is now entitled “Mobile Memory.”

Thank you,

-Aaron

Interesting viewpoint & vision of the future . . .

My favorite quote from the blog?

“I get wiggly just thinking about it.” :smileyvery-happy:
