Many bands give away a few tracks on their websites. Post the most direct links you can here. Maybe you can help your favorite bands get some more fans?!?!
Rules: Must be downloads, not links to videos or anything streaming.
Must be legal, i.e. band authorized type stuff.
SR-71 covers “I want you to want me” - LIVE
Band site: http://www.sr71music.com/
The Hold Steady LIVE @ SXSW “Sequestered in Memphis”
“Stay Positive”
The Hold Steady ENTIRE LIVE SHOW:
MEDIAFIRE links:
1st 12 tracks: http://www.mediafire.com/?zlwh2utfztv
2nd Half of show: http://www.mediafire.com/?yjmuzr3wrm4
This is just my opinion; but I personally would never download anything from a forum, not knowing the original source or content. Not saying that you are intending anything malicious; it’s just risky in general practice. (I’m referring to the mediafire links, not the bands sites)
I work with upcoming bands all of the time, and most of them prefer potential fans to come to their site directly or myspace page…

I guess I am a bit more trusting of my fellow music lovers.
The Mediafire links I posted are DIRECTLY BAND APPROVED.
Here is the main page that I got those links from in case anyone else is at all nervous or wants to download a different show:
http://holdsteady.blogspot.com/
Re: Bands prefering people come to thier sites. If you like something that you download here, would you not GOOGLE that band and find thier pages?
I hate Myspace band pages. Much prefer bands that still use “old fashioned” dedicated websites.

Didn’t want to start a problem. Each person can determine if downloading from a forum or blog is right for them.
As far as myspace pages; It’s a personal thing to each band. I’ve seen a ton of great myspace pages, and a ton of terribly horrid dedicated websites.
