Folders and files not visible after backup

I did an overnight backup of my Surface Pro 3.

I got a note in the morning that it was successful.

The My Passport folder did not appear when I used WD Back up yesterday before this backup. When I used WD Discovery it appeared but the resulting ‘backup’ was very slow and did not seem right.

Overnight I used the WD Back up again and it was deemed successful. But I see no folders.

Second, it is clear that the material was backed up. The necessary gigabytes are there. Second if I search with a keyword the My Password folder they are found.

How do I make them visible? Or do I have to delete all the files and backup again?

What is the difference between WD Back up and WD Disovery? Their functions overlap. Am I right to think that Discovery and Back up are for different types of files?

Hi,

First, the difference is that WD Backup is NOT a program as such. There is no Backup.exe file. You start it through WD Discovery under Apps. However, while iBackup was running, I wass able to make a shortcut and clicking that does start Backup.

Also, Typically Backup is slow. My first one was overnight.

Two ways to visualize the files on the Passport. 1. Use the Restor2 feature and click on Select Files to Restore. Work your way through the folders and files show up in the right panel…2. Using Windows open the drive, click on Backup.swstor and work you way through until you see History and Volume folders. Your files are in the Volume folder. History seems the same, but the files are renamed and contain data apparently tracking the different changes in the files.

I hope this helps you. WD documentation is poor.
